It is composed of two villages, Sâmbăta de Sus and Staţiunea Climaterică Sâmbăta (''Felsőszombatfalvi üdülőtelep''). Formerly part of Voila Commune, these villages were split off to form a separate commune in 2003. ==Features== The early 18th-century Brâncoveanu Monastery is located here.
